Abram and Rebecca Gomez
Abram Gomez is the Executive Pastor at Cross Church in San Benito, TX. He serves under the leadership of Bishop Jaime Loya and helps in leading the 1500 member congregation. Abram was a Top 10% Graduate from his High School in Itasca, Texas, and is also a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He graduated with Cum Laude Honors and with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Church Ministries. Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Human Services with a specialization in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
In 2006, Abram joined the team and staff at VICC, and began to serve as the Senior Youth Pastor. Under his leadership, the youth ministry flourished going from a group of 15 teens to more than 300 being served on a weekly basis through student services and outreach. He established community partnerships with organizations such as the San Benito Elks Lodge, San Benito Boys and Girls Club, Darryl Hester Juvenile Detention Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and many more. With the support of key individuals, Abram helped to develop the Fuel? Student Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors. At this time, he sits on the Executive Board for the Valley International Community Development Corporation, which is a non-profit organization that reaches out to the city of San Benito and surrounding communities with various programs and initiatives.
Abram has served in other various roles such a Church Planting, Pastoral Preaching Team, and Administrator to name a few, and has helped to create church systems and structure to accommodate the growth. He is also a contributing writer to Valley Christian Magazine, which reaches out to the entire region of the Rio Grande Valley. He and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Harlingen along with their precious daughter Isabella.
